CeBIT have invited the Centre for eCommerce and Communications (CeCC) to facilitate a workshop for the Business Intelligence (BI) and Big Data Conference at CeBIT Australia in May 2013. CeBIT Australia is touted as the foremost business technology industry gathering for the Asia Pacific region and is the launching pad for some of the latest industry advances.
CeCC will conduct a workshop entitled Spatial Representation and Visualisation of Big Data. To be facilitated by Andrew MacLeod (Technical Manager, Projects), Paul Feely (Senior Programmer) and Helen Thompson, this 3-hour workshop will demonstrate the real-world application of spatial technologies to support better decision making. Workshop participants will be provided with the practical know-how to effectively ‘consume’ big data using open source spatial technology.
The content for this workshop will draw heavily on the work and associated learnings from VVG and will explore the many considerations to effectively maintain and share large data sets for wider audience access.
CeBIT will be held at Sydney’s Darling Harbor from the 28 – 30 May, 2013.
